Gary Bland
When Gary was chosen for the Old Vic production, he remembered during the tech session how much he wanted to be an actor when he was 11. He balled his eyes out.
"Acting wasn't something I was allowed to do. My sisters were allowed to go to the Anna Cher Theatre if they wanted, but I wasn't allowed. I remember my dad telling me that it's not something the men do in in our family. I also had a chance to get an audition through my drama teacher for Bugsy Malone, the kids version, but again I was told no".
After The Old Vic's multi award winning production ended, Gary was successful in being offered the role of a citizen in Les Miserables the movie with Russell Crowe. He then auditioned and was admitted to a 12 month Post Graduate Theatre Acting course at the world renowned Rose Bruford College.

Since then, Gary has gone on to have his debut role as the lead in Damn Yankees playing Joe Boyd. He was an Ugly Sister in Cinderella at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane. He played the lead in The Baker's Wife as Aimable, and appeared on stage at The National Theatre and at The Piccadilly Theatre.
"When I am not acting I adore writing my own cabarets shows, and joining friends on stage in their shows. I am a very lucky man".
